Leading technologies brought together for antibody test results prototype
Mvine Limited and iProov announce today a new agreement has been formalised to partner with one another on forthcoming business engagements.
Mvine brings to the partnership its cyber secure collaboration portal and identity management technology. iProov brings biometric identity authentication technology that delivers Genuine Presence Assurance ensuring that an individual is the right person, a real person, and authenticating right now.
The two companies will collaborate immediately on a development project called ‘COVID-19 test status digital passport, with privacy protection for adults and children’ which in two months will deliver a fully working demonstrator featuring the companies’ respective technologies being put to use in an entirely new way to improve public health and citizen privacy.
Mvine is developing this solution with funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), won in a highly competitive call to rapidly develop solutions to the COVID-19 crisis. The Phase 1 demonstrator for antibody test results will be completed by 31 July 2020.
Frank Joshi, Director at Mvine, said: “The problem we are solving is enabling Government-approved antibody tests for COVID-19 to be associated with an individual, so you can show that the test has been performed without having to give away personally identifiable information. Mvine’s solution will allow individuals to show that they carry the antibody for COVID-19, leading to widespread acceptance and access to the result of the test, without the need for an extensive new infrastructure.”
Andrew Bud, CEO at iProov, said: “Ensuring consumer trust, security and privacy is essential to the success of projects in this space. iProov enables all three. iProov’s Genuine Presence Assurance secures the link between the citizen and Mvine’s antibody test status solution in this project, which we think can make an important contribution to forming the nation’s response to the COVID-19 crisis.”
The progress of the project is being monitored by Innovate UK.
