In a September 2015 Market Overview report from Forrester profiling 32 mobile infrastructure services (MIS) vendors including AWS, IBM, Microsoft and SAP, Mvine was identified as one of eleven vendors able to provide every one of a number of services seen as key to enabling effective enterprise app development processes.
As organizations prioritise the creation and delivery of rich and engaging mobile experiences for their customers, employees and partners, mobile app development has become incrementally more complex. Mobile infrastructure services platforms make it quicker and easier for front-end developers to build and run consumer and enterprise mobile apps, but the market is converging fast as new players enter the fray and platforms must flex to accommodate increasingly sophisticated developer needs. This current shift can make it hard for enterprises to identify the right MIS provider.
In the report, Market Overview: Mobile Infrastructure Services Aid Developers, leading independent research firm Forrester shines a light on the rapidly converging MIS platform market and assesses today’s complex vendor landscape. Furthermore, Forrester recommends that enterprises make their IDEA teams’ lives easier by focusing on seven specific types of mobile infrastructure services that will allow them to create a range of standardised services to support the needs of front-end developers. These include: user identity management and security; offline data synchronisation; user engagement; analytics; connection with corporate data; data aggregation and business logic; and app management across the lifecycle.
Mvine, a leading provider of next generation enterprise portals, is recognised in the report as a mobile specialist and as an MIS vendor that is able to deliver across each of the seven services cited by Forrester as being key to achieving broad-ranging standardisation, thus aiding the development process.
Mvine CEO and founder Frank Joshi commented, “As apps grow more sophisticated and complex, enterprises must look again at the development process if they are to successfully couple superior user experience at the front end with multiple data sources and business processes at the back end. This demands competencies that now reach beyond those of the traditional app development house or systems integrator. Intelligent brokerage between systems is vital, to intelligently integrate these two worlds.”
This integrated approach is evidenced in Mvine’s recent success with concierge service Quintessentially Lifestyle, which saw Mvine provide its Cloud Integration brokerage platform to Alpha Digital Design as the backbone for connecting a members app with multiple data sources, delivering a rich mobile experience that could dynamically serve content to high net worth members, based on their location, preferences and membership level. The Mvine platform enabled multiple databases and information sources such as Salesforce and Active Directory to be seamlessly and securely integrated with the app, connecting customers and suppliers with large volumes of content and leveraging data intelligently to improve the user experience over time.
Frank Joshi concludes: “The app economy is gathering pace and we recognise the fresh challenges this presents to enterprises in their development efforts. Our work with app agencies signals our commitment to uniting the front end and back end to enable both developer and SI to do their jobs more easily—and ultimately, provide immersive and personalized mobile experiences to end users.”
