In a January 2016 report, Vendor Landscape: Digital Experience Portals, leading independent research firm Forrester considers the Digital Experience (DX) portal market in light of enterprises’ evolving technology needs. The report notes that, while portal technologies may seem passe, they are in fact critical to delivering secure mobile and web customer experiences on top of back-end and transaction systems of record.
With nearly two-thirds of surveyed DX leaders naming inadequate integration with back-end systems as the number one technology challenge they face in digital customer experience initiatives, Forrester assesses the wider challenge for enterprises in the report and summarises the current vendor landscape, which is roughly divided into traditional, heavyweight solution providers and pure play, lightweight solutions.
Mvine, a leading provider of next generation enterprise portals, is recognised in the report as one of the lighter weight independent digital experience portal solutions vendors. The report notes Mvine’s modern technology stack focussed on SAML (security assertion mark-up language) authentication and real-time back-end integration.
Mvine Managing Director Frank Joshi commented, “As the Forrester report acknowledges, pure plays offer a faster time to market and we consider this to be a key strength of Mvine’s portal offering. Today’s consumer is accustomed to seamless self-service as part of their digital customer experience, so full, secure integration between front-end and back-end is critical to enterprises’ ability to meet that expectation.”
Forrester’s report concludes with a recommendation that enterprises map their digital experience portfolio as a first step, and then complement it with the appropriate portal capabilities—ideally in an Agile process.
